ONE of the largest offshore Rigid Inflatable Boats on the south coast has been launched.

New offshore Rib charter company Solent Rib Safaris Ltd, based in Port Solent and Cowes, had the 10-metre Solent Voyager Baltic custom-made.

It has already attracted interest from investment banks and businesses looking to charter the vessel.

The firm was founded by Adam Vere Nicoll, who has served for the last 14 years as captain of luxury motor yachts and has navigated more than 200,000 miles of the Mediterranean, Caribbean, USA and Bahamas.

He said: ‘We are excited to be launching one of the largest offshore Ribs on the south coast.

‘The Solent Voyager is a really unique case of professional craftsmanship, built for the ultimate passenger experience and designed to the highest standards of comfort and safety.’

He added that 2012 will be a big year in the boat world, including the Rib show coming to Gunwharf Quays this month.

‘We will operate from Cowes and Portsmouth, both of which are the main hubs of the yachting world.’
