THERE are plenty of reasons to visit Hampshire - that’s the message the county council’s new Rural Escapes campaign.

Aiming to attract more visitors to the county, the three-week campaign will be a national, targeted programme of publicity, which will highlight some of the area’s attractions and short breaks.

Executive member for economic development Cllr Ray Ellis said: ‘Tourism contributes £3bn to Hampshire’s economy every year and employs more than 60,000 people, so is a vital element in our current and future prosperity.’
