HAVANT MP and science minister David Willetts has unveiled a series of investments for technology firms.

Mr Willetts announced a £47.2m fund from the second wave of Biomedical Catalyst fund.

That money will go to 51 technology companies to help them carry out research and development across the biomedical industries and take new products to market.

He also unveiled a separate £12m fund for innovative firms given from the Technology Strategy Board.

Speaking at Innovate UK 2013 in London, Mr Willetts said: ‘Investing in new ideas for technology now means that the UK will maintain its position as a global leader for innovation.
