NEW Gosport ferry Harbour Spirit is being unveiled tomorrow.

The newest ferry on Portsmouth Harbour has room for 300 passengers and will be put into action later this month.

Harbour Spirit, which was named by resident David Hurman, will replace the two older ferries Gosport Queen and Portsmouth Queen.

Both boats have been in action since 1966.

John Foster, managing director, said: ‘It’s fantastic to see this new ferry launched.

‘It’s been years in the making and to see her ready to take her first passengers is really exciting.’

The ferry is being officially launched at the terminal tomorrow and will be open to the public on Thursday for guided tours between 10am and 3pm so passengers can see the new vessel.
