THE construction industry in the south will benefit from a round of funding that could create up to 7,400 new jobs.

The cash has come from the Government’s Regional Growth Fund (RGF) and the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).

Roger Stone, sector strategy manager for CITB-ConstructionSkills South West, said: ‘We welcome the news that the south will benefit from this additional funding including the successful bid from the Solent LEP.

‘This funding will really help to kick-start construction projects in the south helping to boost jobs and growth in the region.’
