NEW key-cutting services will be available at a supermarket.

Morrisons Horndean is installing a new laser key machine, at its store on Lakesmere Road, which will cut keys that are perfect replicas of the originals in two minutes.

The machine is the most sophisticated on the market and uses the latest laser technology to cut customers keys precisely.

Unlike traditional key cutting which only offers a two in three success rate, Morrisons laser machine scans a 10,000 record database, before cutting to an accuracy of a thousandth of an inch.

Any three keys cut costs £10, or a single key of any type is £4.95.

Peter Thorogood, store general manager, said: ‘Forty per cent of households get an average of two keys cut per year. Our new service is the quickest, most accurate and value for money on the market.

‘Combined with our store’s pharmacy, dry cleaning, photo processing, petrol station and recycling services, we hope this new introduction will make life easier for our customers.’
