A MULTIMILLION pound shopping centre in Whiteley has a new manager.

Neil Carter has been appointed centre manager at the £84m Whiteley Shopping Centre, which is due to open on Thursday, May 23.

A former manager at Parkway in Newbury, he was also in charge of County Mall in Crawley.

And he has experience in retail shops, having held various jobs at national chains, including Debenhams and Marks & Spencer.

Neil said: ‘I am delighted to be part of this exciting new shopping centre.

‘We are working very hard to ensure that local people can have an excellent shopping experience, right on their doorstep. I want to maximise the obvious potential of the area and believe Whiteley Shopping Centre will be of massive benefit to local businesses and residents, as well as being an attraction for the wider region.’

The centre will be located between Portsmouth and Southampton, near junction nine of the M27 and has 1,500 free car park spaces.

It offers a number of independent stores and local retailers.

It will also offer cafés and restaurants for shoppers.

For more information about the centre before it opens, visit the website at whiteleyshopping.co.uk, or you can also search for it on Twitter and Facebook.
