BAE Systems Maritime Services is searching for a new managing director following the sudden departure of Rory Fisher.

Mr Fisher, who was a director of Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), left the company to pursue a new role, according to BAE Systems.

He has also stood down from his LEP position and will be replaced later this year.

A spokeswoman for the company told The News: ‘Rory Fisher has decided to leave the business following a successful career within the company of over 26 years to pursue a senior management and performance improvement role externally.

‘Ian Hawkes has been seconded to the position of managing director for Maritime Services pending permanent recruitment.’
