A NEW bargain store in Cosham will open its doors for the first time tomorrow.

Eighteen new jobs have been created as a result of the shop’s arrival in High Street.

It replaces an empty shop which was occupied by Bonmarche, the ladies’ clothing retailer, which closed after retailer Peacocks went bust last month.

The store will hold a fun day on Saturday to mark the occasion. Visitors will be treated to a DJ and face painting in the shop. One pound vouchers will also be handed out to shoppers. David Coxon, Poundland’s trading director, said: ‘We are delighted to bring our unique proposition to Cosham.

‘Our current customers love us and we’re sure the Cosham shoppers will too. The £1 price hasn’t changed since we opened our first store 22 years ago.’
