ITALIAN restaurant, retailer and deli chain, Carluccio’s, is set to be the latest occupier at Gunwharf Quays.

The company says that, after it opens on Friday, December 6, it will offer an all-day Italian restaurant, food shop and deli, making it the ideal destination for breakfast, coffee and pastries, a light lunch, a three-course meal with wine or even a spot of retail therapy.

Simon Kossoff, chief executive of Carluccio’s, said: ‘We have been keen to open in Portsmouth for a number of years now and are delighted to have finally found the right site for us.’

Carluccio’s began as an Italian food shop in 1990, expanding into a cafe and food shop in 1994, and run by chef Antonio Carluccio, who employed Jamie Oliver at his restaurant in Covent Garden.

The Landmark Group, based in Dubai, took the chain of 70 restaurants over in 2010.
