A 100-SEAT restaurant has transformed the site of a disused building society and brought 20 new jobs to Fareham.

Rancho South American Steak House, on West Street, welcomed its first diners last night, with a swinging cabaret and a packed house.

It is the fifth Rancho restaurant, including one in Southsea, for owner Giash Uddin, who said he was delighted to be open in Fareham after eight months of renovation work, which cost nearly £350,000.

Mr Uddin said: ‘I want to serve the best steaks to the meat lovers in Fareham. We have a saying “if you are hungry, grab the bull by the horns and come to Rancho’s.’

The restaurant will be open from 11.30am until 10.30pm every day.
