PETS in need of a check-up or medical assistance can now use the services of a new vets as after months of planning it has finally opened its doors to the public.
Whiteley Village Vets, in Parkway, is the only vets in the village, and it held an open day to show people around.
Owner Cara Golden said: ‘We had a superb open day, with lots of people coming in and we have been getting lots of good reports and positive comments.
‘We got all our equipment out so people could see what we do and have a look around. It was about letting people know what we are doing.’
The vets went through months of trying to get planning permission for two sites, including one on Yew Tree Drive, which delayed Mrs Golden setting up business.
Now Mrs Golden, who used to practise in Southsea and Havant, is happier than ever to have a site where she can operate from which includes car parking.
Mrs Golden, from Hamble, said: ‘Lots of my clients have followed me and we have lots of new people coming through the doors as there are no other vets in Whiteley. We are getting busier and busier by the day. It has been well worth the wait.’
The vets opened last month and employs two nurses and two receptionists, as well as Mrs Golden, who hopes to expand the centre and recruit more staff as its customer base grows.
