HMS St Albans has linked up with three different warships – one American, one Pakistani and one British – during a series of rendezvous in the Middle East.

The Portsmouth-based frigate exercised with the PNS Shah Jahan for exercises, the latest in a string of important and high-profile war games for the Saint as her east of Suez mission draws to a close.

The past few weeks have seen the Type 23 frigate train to detect submarines with American aircraft carrier USS John C Stennis, trade places with HMS Argyll as the on-call frigate in the Gulf, and finally work with the Pakistani Navy.

With the exercise now over, St Albans is continuing her journey west. She’s due home in Portsmouth next month.
