THERE has been an increase of more than a third in the number of people buying properties in Portsmouth over the past year, according to an estate agent’s research.

Helen Asteris, area director at Fox & Sons, said: ‘South Hampshire’s property market continues its strong performance over the seasonally quieter summer period, with new buyer registrations up 25 per cent annually.

‘With demand continuing to outstrip supply, property prices in the region remain buoyant at £200,177 on average, an increase of nine per cent annually.’
