These spectacular pictures show a pilot’s eye view of one of the stunning air displays over Southsea during the America’s Cup regatta.

They were taken on on-board cameras during the performance by the Blades Aerobatic Display Team.

The four planes twisted and turned and spun upside down to the delight of the watching crow on Saturday.

The Blades Team is a full-time civilian display team and pilots have to have flown with the Red Arrows to be able to join the team.

Lizzy Spencer, who is the PR executive for the Blades, said ‘This is fantastic for us. It’s our first time in Portsmouth. It’s almost like we are celebrating by displaying in front of a new crowd and people that are into their sailing.

‘This is probably one of the best atmospheres that I have ever known. It’s just been brilliant.’
