A BUTCHER has won a top prize after nearly losing a winning ticket hidden in his delivery of beef.

Paul Astle, proprietor of Real Country Butchers in Copnor, won a branded butchers bike to display outside his shop after narrowly missing out on the prize.

Tickets were hidden in boxes of Weddel Swift Matured Quality Standard English Beef, which Paul had unpacked and thrown away. It wasn’t until a staff member was sorting out their recycling that they came across their winning ticket.
