The Fareham branch of the national group, Enterprising Women, is holding the event on Thursday, February 5.

Guests will include the mayor and mayoress of Fareham, David and Pamela Norris, Fareham MP Mark Hoban and Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage.

Cllr Norris said: ‘It is very important that we encourage women in business.

‘It is fantastic that organisations like Enterprising Women help so many ambitious professional women in Fareham. I look forward to joining the club in celebrating their first anniversary.’

Mr Hoban will be talking at the event about opportunities for business in Fareham, and grants and services available to help new business start-ups.

Eileen Quick, club host, said: ‘This is an open invitation to businesswomen and female entrepreneurs who want to know more about the opportunities available and how to start-up their own business.

‘If you are a lady already in business then sharing your knowledge is a great way to give something back to fellow female entrepreneurs and it can also help you implement new ideas into your own business.

‘It’s definitely a great way to build confidence and develop new skills in a safe environment.’

The open day is being held from 10.30am until 12.30pm at the Lysses Hotel, Fareham.
