THE opening date of a multimillion-pound retail development has been announced.

Marks & Spencer has announced it will be opening the doors to its huge new store in Solent Road, Havant, on Thursday, July 14.

People are invited to the opening at 10am with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony with store manager, Lincoln Ashley, and his team of more than 100 staff.

Mr Ashley said: ‘Having been with M&S for 17 years, bringing a new store to Havant is certainly the highlight of my career so far. In the lead-up to the opening, we’ve worked hard to ensure that we support the local economy and employment in Havant and, as a result, have more than 70 members of staff employed from the Havant area.’

Havant will be M&S’s first new clothing and food store to open in 2016.
