Passengers report huge delays at Gatwick passport control

Thousands of passengers were forced to wait for hours after landing as passport control was staffed by just FOUR people.

Angry jet-setters took to Twitter to complain about the delays at Gatwick Airport, for which staff had apparently offered “no explanation at all”.

Some passengers reported waiting more than three hours to get through passport control at the airport, in Crawley, West Sussex.

Another user, Richard Daly, wrote: “Complete chaos in North terminal arrivals passport control. Looks like about an hour wait. How hard can it be to plan?”

He said: “It was pretty chaotic. I think most people were more surprised than anything else - then resigned to a long wait.

“And just for sport the queue for train tickets was 25 minutes, so I’ve missed two trains so far.”

Ed Brewster wrote: “Gatwick can’t handle the passengers from one runway.”
