The initiative to ‘pud mum first’ follows the revelation that Portsmouth mums believe themselves to be less important than their children and partner.
A UK-wide study of 1,000 mums aged between 18 and 55, commissioned by Toby Carvery, revealed the majority of mums put themselves third in the pecking order, with only five per cent believing they are the most significant family member.
The family carvery restaurant on Copnor Road is asking mothers to pay each other a compliment by visiting the restaurant’s Facebook page.
In return they will both receive a free pudding and will be automatically entered into a free prize draw for a chance of winning a £500 SuperBreak voucher to spend on a luxury spa day.
Go to facebook.com/tobycarvery/?fref=ts before March 7 to claim a free pudding and be entered into the prize draw.
