GOSPORT MP Caroline Dinenage has urged the government to build an enterprise zone in the town.

The government announced plans for 21 new enterprise zones in England last month.

These will bring tax breaks, simplified planning rules and fast broadband to selected areas of the country.

Mrs Dinenage has written to Eric Pickles, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, to make the case for one in Gosport.

She said: ‘Having an enterprise zone in Gosport would boost growth, jobs and enterprise.

‘It is localist by keeping power and profits within the local area so our community benefits.’
