THE Prime Minister has released a video message supporting Ben Ainslie’s bid to win the America’s Cup.

David Cameron, who visited the headquarters in February, said: ‘It’s nearly a year since Ben Ainslie came to Downing Street to tell me about his vision. He talked about apprentices building the boats of tomorrow, about young people being inspired by sailing just as they were during the London Olympics.

‘He talked about Portsmouth being transformed and the Solent restored to its marine glory, and of course he talked about the America’s Cup.’

Mr Cameron went on to say he hoped to see the Ben Ainslie Racing team lift the America’s Cup. See the video here.
