A VILLAGE pub which was mysteriously boarded up and shut last week is set to reopen to customers.

The Wheatsheaf pub in Titchfield, one of just three pubs in the village, was closed last week to the surprise of locals.

Owners County Caterers Ltd, a Portsmouth-based firm, refused to comment on why the pub in East Street had closed down.

But now the pub, which has appeared in the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) book for the last seven years, is set to re-open to the public under new ownership on Monday at 5pm.
