PORTSMOUTH International Port may well become the gateway for people looking to escape from the Olympics.

Research by YouGov, commissioned by the Passenger Shipping Association, showed that more than a million Londoners are looking to leave the capital during the games, and a third of those expect big delays at airports.

More than a fifth of those questioned said they’d be looking to take their car on holiday with them.

On the back of that result, the port has released a video to show travellers how easy it is to travel from London to the ferries and cruise ships.

Port manager Martin Putman said: ‘With so many people apparently keen to escape the capital this summer, it seemed a great time to remind them of how easy it is to start their holiday from Portsmouth.’
