A PORTSMOUTH chef is to cook in Slovenia as part of a national project to showcase British curry cuisine abroad.
Kowsar Miah, head chef at the Mowchak Restaurant in Drayton, will demonstrate his skills at the Taste of Britain Curry Festival, in the country’s capital city, Ljubljana.
Chef Kowsar is among three British ‘Super Curry Chefs’ chosen by the UK based Curry Life magazine to accomplish the ambitious task of winning the hearts and minds of gourmets in Slovenia.
Chefs taking part in the festival have been selected for the out of hundreds of hopefuls to showcase British talent and specialities, from balti dishes to chicken tikka masala.
The event, organised by Curry Life magazine and Hotel Park in Ljubljana, aims to promote creative and artistic culinary skills of the best curry chefs across the world.
Syed Belal Ahmed, the festival’s director said: ‘We are confident that there is an appetite for our unique range of British curry dishes in Ljubljana, which are milder and healthier.’
The shwcase takes place from February 11 to 15 at Hotel Park, Ljubljana.
