Portsmouth Guildhall has been nominated for a Live Music Business Award in the best teamwork category.

Other nominees include prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Hammersmith Appollo and The Sage Gateshead.

The category covers a wide range of skills, from the initial programming of the event, box office and marketing, to front of house and technical support.

The Portsmouth Cultural Trust team has been managing Portsmouth Guildhall since 2011.

The trust’s chief executive Andy Grays said: ‘This nomination is particularly pleasing as it comes from people within our industry, most likely a promoter or tour manager.

‘It is a tribute to everyone working at the venue.’

Created by the publisher of Live UK, a magazine for companies and individuals working in this sector of the creative industries, the Live Music Business Awards recognise excellence and talent among promoters, venue operators, festival organisers and agents, through to artiste managers, tour managers, show producers, brand impact and record label partnerships.

Other categories include breakthrough artist, best festival performance, unsung hero and outstanding contribution.

The award ceremony is on October 16 at the Radison Blu Hotel in London.
