A WARM welcome awaits visitors to a sheltered housing scheme at an open day.

Potential residents, their relatives and carers are invited to have a look around Bresler House on the slopes of Portsdown Hill in Paulsgrove and talk to residents and staff on Saturday.

Afternoon tea and cakes will be served, and guests will be invited to join in a sing-along with entertainer Les Taylor.

Joining residents and staff on the day will be community wardens, residents, an entertainer, chiropodist and hairdresser, who regularly visit the scheme.

Visitors will have the chance to talk to staff about what support packages are on offer and how these can be tailor-made to meet residents’ individual needs.

Alison Croucher is sheltered housing manager for Portsmouth City Council.

She said: ‘We thought it would be nice to invite visitors to take a look around for themselves, and find out what’s on offer.’

The open day will run from 1pm to 4.30pm.
