PORTSMOUTH has the second highest number of caravanners in the country, according to a survey.
The survey found Sheffield was the caravan capital of the UK, with Portsmouth coming second for having the highest number of caravan and motorhome owners.
Others making the top 10 were Bristol, Swansea and Bournemouth.
Ilford in East London had among the fewest in the survey.
Andy Leech, head of Safeguard UK, said: ‘While Yorkshire has some of the nicest scenery in the UK, its residents are furthest from the coast so it’s likely that they use their caravan to travel to seaside resorts.’
