LANDLORDS and those thinking about letting out a property are being urged to find out more about the industry at an opening evening.

The Portsmouth and District Landlords Association is holding a landlords show at the Queens Hotel, Southsea.

It is open to professional landlords, agents, and those with a passing interest in letting, and follows last year’s event which was a huge success.

Malcolm Drew, one of the organisers, said: ‘There are three streams of seminars covering everything from how to purchase property in today’s financial climate, to how to wind down a property portfolio.

‘There will also be practical sessions on everything in between, from tenant referencing to avoiding condensation.’

Portsmouth City Council will run workshops on how to be a better landlord and local authorities, charities and the University of Portsmouth will have stands at the exhibition.

Law firms, insurers, accountants, builders, management companies and local tradespeople will also be there.

It is being held on October 17 from 2pm to 8pm.
