A PORTSMOUTH law firm has helped secure a major acquisition for Berkshire transport technology firm TRL ltd.

The corporate team at Coffin Mew, based at 1000 Lakeside in North Harbour, helped the firm acquire Appia Infrastructure Solutions Ltd, a consultancy and software company.

It develops software called The Scheme Engineer to help in the management of highways infrastructure in order to increase efficiency.

TRL plans to roll the software out worldwide, beginning with Africa, where it is already being piloted.

Sue Sharland, the chief executive at TRL said: ‘We enjoyed working with the team at Coffin Mew and appreciated the very practical advice and solutions to issues.’

She added: ‘Our acquisition of Appia represents a key strategic development for TRL’s future as a prestigious and world leader in traffic and highways research and consultancy.’
