A MANUFACTURER from Portsmouth has been shortlisted for a national award.

Excell Metal Spinning in Limberline Road, Hilsea, is up for the Supply Chain of Excellence category in the Manufacturer MX Awards.

The company provides metal spinning services making cylindrical metal components for use in manufacturing. It started in 2010, before expanding in 2014 to its present 12,500 sq ft factory.

Lee Bligh, director at Excell, said: ‘We’re delighted to have been shortlisted and are looking forward to the big event.’

Competition has been exceptionally tough this year with a 23 per cent increase in entrants for the awards, run by the Hennik Group, which also publishes trade magazine The Manufacturer.

Nick Hussey, CEO of the Hennik Group, said: ‘All shortlisted companies should be extremely proud they’ve been selected against such strong competition.’

The entrants were subject to site visits as well as a rigorous judging process.

Winners are due to be announced at a gala dinner at The Vox in Birmingham tonight.
