A PORTSMOUTH marketing company has been short listed for a top award.

Market Makers, based at 1000 Lakeside, in Western Road, is hoping to become the winner of ‘Staff Development Programme of the Year’ in the 2013 Learning Awards.

The firm will find out if it wins at a ceremony which will be held in Dorchester, Dorset, on February 7 next year.

The awards, which has attracted more than 200 entries from across the world, recognise companies which show examples of innovation and excellence.

Colin Steed, chief executive of The Learning and Performance Institute, which announced the finalists, said: ‘The heritage and reputation of The Learning Awards is unrivalled.

‘As the amount and quality of entries increase year on year, the achievement of our shortlisted entries is all the more impressive and we would like to congratulate all of them.’

For the last four years Market Makers has been rated highly in ‘The Times 100 Best Companies’ and in the past it has won the prize of Customer Focus at The Best Business Awards.
