THE Minister for Portsmouth has paid a visit to a maritime technology firm.

Michael Fallon went to Qinetiq in Gosport to see the latest developments.

He met a number of new recruits to the business and also saw trials in action.

Mr Fallon said: ‘I was impressed by the solutions that QinetiQ is offering in response to the complex techrnological challenges faced by our navy.

‘It is good for the area that QinetiQ is here – it wants to stay here and grow here.

‘The government’s industrial strategy is giving companies like QinetiQ the confidence to invest, securing highly-skilled jobs and a stronger economy.

‘I look forward to seeing the company create new roles as the business succeeds and grows in future.’

The visit was on June 24.
