PUPILS got the chance to find out more about the work Sir Ben Ainslie’s sailing enterprise is doing in Portsmouth.

Year 6 students from Northern Parade Junior School were treated to a tour of Land Rover BAR’s new Tech Deck in Old Portsmouth, which gives visitors the chance to learn more about the technology behind the boat.

It also features an education centre focused on science, technology, engineering and maths.

The school visit was arranged by energy firm Low Carbon, which linked up with Land Rover BAR and sailing charity the 1851 Trust, of which the Duchess of Cambridge is a patron, to pay for solar panels to be fitted on the roof of Northern Parade.
