A £2.2m scheme to bring superfast broadband to Portsmouth has been officially launched today.

It will help smaller businesses in Portsmouth get access to high-speed internet via a voucher scheme, meaning they are better equipped to win new business.

As one of 22 Super Connected Cities, Portsmouth City Council secured funding for the project from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport’s Super-Connected Cities programme.

The vouchers, worth between £250 and £3,000 each, will help cover installation costs.

For information on how to get a voucher, which are being allocated on a first come, first served basis, see connectionvouchers.co.uk. The application form will be available for download from December 16.
