TEENAGER Michael Benham O’Leary is all smiles as he receives a new bike courtesy of Fareham-based Lucketts Travel.

The 14-year-old, of Hewett Road, North End, Portsmouth, was devastated after thieves stole the £400 mountain bike he had saved for from outside the Charles Dickens Centre in Lake Road, Portsmouth, on March 22.

David Luckett, chairman of Lucketts, read about his plight in The News and offered to buy Michael a new bike.

The two met at Halfords at Ocean Retail Park in Burrfields Road, Portsmouth, where he chose a replacement. Halfords also donated a D-lock so the teenager can secure his bike.

Mum Sophia, 37, said: ‘Michael’s really pleased. He was grinning from ear to ear.’
