RESIDENTS in Southsea were left without power in their homes yesterday.

A total of 30 neighbours in Devonshire Avenue were affected by the power loss, which was caused by a fault with an underground electricity cable.

Southern Electric engineers worked throughout the day to restore the power, which went down at 3am. Work was completed by late afternoon.

Samantha O’Connor of Southern Electric, said: ‘We would like to thank the residents of Devonshire Avenue for their patience during the interruption to their power.

‘Our engineers identified a fault with an underground cable and carried out the full repairs to restore supplies.’
