A FAULT left homes and businesses in Eastney without electricity for more than an hour today.

Around 50 properties in Eastney were effected when a fuse blew at a substation on Prince Albert Road.

The homes and shops effected were on Eastney Road, Woodmancote Road, Teddington Road, Essex Road, and Goldsmith Avenue, and had no power from 10.15am to 11.40am.

Greg Clarke, from Southern Electric, said: ‘The problem was due to a fuse blowing at one of the substations on Prince Albert Road.

‘Engineers replaced the fuse and the fault has been restored.

‘We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.’
