FAMILY-RUN printing firm Bishops Printers has invested in a new press to help it meet demand.

This month it will be firing up its new £1.5m Heidelberg printing press, which is equipped with the latest technology and which can potentially save up to three hours’ print time over the 24-hour working day.

The investment at its Farlington base follows hot on the heels of a similar outlay at Bishops Printers’ sister company, The Mailing People, which took delivery of its own machine to help streamline productivity.

Gareth Roberts, managing director of the firm, said: ‘Our decision to invest in Heidelberg equipment has undoubtedly been a significant contributing factor to our survival and growth over the years.

‘The partnership is close because the level of support they provide is second to none and this enables us to consistently operate to maximum efficiency.’

Bishops says its 25-year relationship with Heidelberg has been strong and fruitful for the firm, which has grown from a one-man operation to a 221 staff, £20m enterprise based in Walton Road.
