A PUB in Gosport has been put up for sale by its owners.

The freehold for The Yachtsman, in Gosport’s High Street, is on the market for £595,000.

The sale is being handed by the Winchester office of Christie and Co, and it includes the ground-floor bar/restaurant, and a first-floor restaurant/function room and wine bar.

There are also seven letting bedrooms on the second floor.

Keith Goodwin, who is handling the sale, said: ‘This property is superbly situated in the centre of Gosport, and has attractive views across Portsmouth Harbour.

‘While it currently trades as a bar/restaurant with letting bedrooms, it could be suitable for alternative use – subject to planning permission and the usual necessary consents.

‘Additional floors could be built with the upper floors becoming either residential flats or the accommodation for a hotel with its bar and restaurant on the ground floor.’
