MORE than half of pub tenants in the UK operating under a company are making less than £10,000 a year.

That was the startling revelation by Tory councillor Alistair Thompson at this week’s meeting of all members of Portsmouth City Council.

He said it was extremely unfortunate around 58 per cent make a minimal amount because of running costs.

‘Pubs serve a massive benefit to the community,’ he said.
