PUBS across Portsmouth slashed the price of their food and drink by 7.5 per cent yesterday as part of an awareness campaign.

Twelve Wetherspoon venues backed the national Tax Equality Day, aimed at highlighting the benefit of a VAT reduction in the hospitality industry.

Jamie England, manager of The Isambard Kingdom Brunel, in Portsmouth, said: ‘We are proud to support the campaign.’
