A TRAINING firm has become a champion firm for the area.

Babcock International Group, in Drayton, has been selected as a Solent Champion by Business Solent.

BIG provides vocational training and apprenticeships in a wide range of industries, from engineering and automotive to retail and hospitality.

The business also offers the chance to gain cross-sector qualifications, such as team leading, management and administration.

And it is now one of almost 200 hand-picked champions which aim to improve the region and promote the name of the Solent far and wide.

Fiona Stilwell, Babcock’s education and training operations manager for the south east, said: ‘Business Solent enables us to reach more local employers and to work with them to create businesses that thrive, grow and are rewarding to work for.’
