THE Hampshire Chamber of Commerce has been handed a Buy With Confidence mark after passing a rigorous audit.
It was carried out by Hampshire County Council’s trading standards officers, and means businesses using the chamber know it is committed to responsible trading.
Maureen Frost, Hampshire Chamber’s director of operations, said: ‘The Buy With Confidence scheme offers assurance to customers that a business is committed to trading honestly and fairly.
‘We applied for the scheme as we think it is worthwhile for us as an independent business organisation and because we’d like to encourage our members to join the scheme too.
‘For buyers of business services, it’s a great way to source a responsible supplier.’
Buy With Confidence was set up by Hampshire County Council in 1999 in response to concerns about rogue traders.
The scheme has been adopted by more than 35 local authority trading standards departments and now supports more than 4,300 members.
