HERE is the first look at the completed Solent Wheel on Portsmouth’s seafront in its complete form.

Work has now finished on the construction of the family ride at Clarence Pier.

And bosses hope the public will be able to get on and enjoy stunning views of the Solent from Tuesday next week.

The 100ft wheel features 24 gondolas, each seating six passengers.

It was made in Italy by attractions firm Technical Park after pier bosses paid £750,000 to have it made.

It was shipped over from Caen last weekend.

Adult tickets will cost £6 each and it will be £4 for children aged four to 16.

Toddlers aged one to three can go on the ride for £2.

Visitors can also pay £40 for the ‘ultimate VIP gondola experience’, which will include a glass of bubbly for those 18 and over.
