THE Ribex boat show, which is coming to Portsmouth for the first time this year, has been renamed.

The Powerboat and Rib Show, as it is now called, will take place at Gunwharf Quays from May 11 to 13.

It features powerboats of every description as well as the Rigid Inflatable Boats that gave the show its previous monicker.

It will also be free for visitors, making it much more accessible and the only free outdoor boat show on water in the UK.

Organiser Hugo Montgomery-Swan, said: ‘This is an incredibly exciting time and both the change of name and free entry really marks a huge step in the evolution of the show.

‘The new venue will be a great benefit to visitors, who will be able to take advantage of Gunwharf Quays’ many shops, restaurants and entertainment venues while they are at the show.’

Up to 100,000 visitors are expected to attend this year’s show, which will feature a host of special exhibits, a wide selection of boats available for sale, and free rides on a Rib around Portsmouth Harbour.
