PORTSMOUTH-based construction and maintenance services provider Mountjoy has been awarded an International Safety Award 2014 with merit by The British Safety Council.

The award was made in recognition of the company’s commitment to workplace health and safety.

Dave Redman, managing director of Mountjoy, said: ‘This is a fantastic achievement and a great validation of the hard work of our safety department, who have raised standards and lowered accident rates, despite significant growth within the organisation.’

The safety team is led by Simon Cathcart, who says he is delighted to receive the recognition.

He said: ‘Working safely is at the heart of what we do, and this award follows a 12-month safety initiative across the organisation, featuring targeted campaigns, talks and visits.’
