STAFF at Sainsbury’s in Farlington are ready to roll up their sleeves to renovate a charity garden.

Headway Portsmouth South and East Hampshire has been chosen as the store’s charity of the year.

It will receive a year’s worth of fundraising and support from the Fitzherbert Road store and its customers.

The first project will be to overhaul the garden at its premises in St James’ Hospital, Milton.

Joy Ward, funding strategy manager for Headway, said: ‘We are delighted that Sainsbury’s Farlington has selected Headway as their charity for this year.

‘I know that the partnership will provide opportunities for us to raise awareness and also provide funds to support us in delivering our service.’

Lesley Powell, store spokesman, said: ‘We are delighted to be working with Headway this year.

‘Sainsbury’s stores and their customers helped more than 800 charities and organisations across the UK last year through fundraising and volunteering.’
