A £39m Sainsbury’s superstore opened in Waterlooville today.
After seven months of construction the supermarket opened its doors and was quickly bustling with shoppers.
The new superstore is on site of the old Caetano coach factory and Sprint Print in Aston Road.
A six-pump petrol filling station has been built on the site of the former Household Waste Recycling Plant.
The development also includes a new pedestrian ramp linking the retail park to Maurepas Way and the rest of the town centre.
Developers have also re-configured the junction between Aston Road and the B2150.
The store has a sales area of 45,000 square feet, a cafe and is expected to create up to 300 local jobs.
