A BAR in Portsmouth could be transformed into a supermarket.

Sainsbury’s has applied for planning permission to create a new entrance to Hippodrome House in Guildhall Walk.

The application says it intends to change the use of the building from a bar to a convenience store.

It is currently a Walkabout and a cash machine would also be installed, according to the proposals. New illuminated signs would be put up.

There is a consultation on the plans until Friday, September 21. To comment, email
